The word suicide has become a norm. It is estimated that around 1 million people will die by suicide worldwide each year, with approximately 12,000 attempted suicides each year in Ireland [HSE.ie]

The alarming increase in suicidal rate inspired the creation of The Concert of Hope, themed “You are not alone”.

The aim is to make the world aware that no matter what we face in life, with Christ Jesus, there’s hope for you. Your present circumstance does not mean life will be this way forever. Just hold on a little longer.

For Anthony & Colette, (author of book titled “If I could hold you again”), their youngest daughter Leanne took her own life when she was only 18 years old. This left them with nothing but pain and loneliness. They were completely broken as a family and individually, with no hope, no joy, no peace.

With the help of godly counsellors and the church of God, they started a journey from hell to hope through Jesus Christ.

The church could no longer stand back and watch our society waste away to suicide and came together with one mind to organise the Concert of Hope, commencing in the year 2013.
